Common Side Effects Of Tamiflu

Tamiflu has been studied extensively in clinical trials. A part of the studies had concentrated on determining the side effects that occur in a group of people taking the drug, which are later compared to those that occur in another group of people taking a placebo. As a result, it is possible to see what side effects occur, how often they appear, and if Tamiflu is really the cause of the adverse reaction.

The most common side effects experienced by participants in the study of Tamiflu medication were nausea and vomiting. These symptoms were mostly mild to moderate and generally occurred within the first two days of administration of the drug. Other less-frequent side effects included diarrhea, bronchitis, abdominal pain, dizziness, headache, cough, insomnia, vertigo, fatigue.

Do not take Tamiflu if you are allergic to oseltamivir phosphate or any other ingredients of Tamiflu. Before starting treatment, get sure your physician knows about any other medications you may be taking at the moment, or if you have any form of kidney disease.

It was stated that the most common problem with Tamiflu in children was vomiting. Up to 15 percent of children experienced this side effect. It should be mentioned that the correct mode of administration brings more chances to reach the desirable effect and decrease the possible adverse reactions. Thus, taking Tamiflu with food may help decrease the chances of experiencing nausea or vomiting.
